He/She shall be responsible for

In addition to duties of his post he/she has to do the following duties as HOD 

  • Setting up high standard of professional conduct in the department
  • Planning the teaching schedule in consultation with other staff In the department
  • Planning practical training to UG and PG along with Ward assignment
  • Planning clinical teaching programmes/with Intra and Inter-department co-ordination
  • Organization of Seminars, Panel Discussion, Symposia, Debates, Journal Clubs and other learning activities
  • Display of Circulars and Educational material in Notice Boards
  • Carrying out teaching work with assistance from members of staff
  • Conduct of Internal Assessment/Tests/Compilation of marks and despatch to Principal/University
  • Guidance to student in methods of study and use of reference books and library
  • Guiding PGs and their Dissertation work
  • Taking part in college council meeting
  • Conduct of Diploma/UG/PG Exams
  • Supervise Admission and discharge of patients
  • Supervise out-patient work
  • Supervision of maintenance of ward cleanliness, patients records, x-ray and other Documents
  • Action for up keeping and timely repairs of equipment’s
  • Action for Indent for necessary instruments for the department
  • Supervise and Maintenance of Stock Registers and inventories
  • Co-ordinating and facilitating work of their staff members
  • Investigation of complaints and suitable remedial measures
  • Formulation of short term and long term plans for growth and development of

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF ANAESTHESIOLOGY & PAIN RELIEF 

  • He/She shall be responsible for

  • He/ She shall be responsible for setting up of high standard of professional
  • Conduct in the department
  • Tacking active participation in the preparation of course contents, teaching Schedule of UG and PG teaching both beside and diabetic lecture classes for UG and PG
  • Co-ordination the department activities
  • Attending Seminars, Panel Discussion, Symposia, Debates, Journal Clubs and
  • Other learning activities of the department/college
  • Carrying out teaching work with assistance from members of staff
  • Conduct of Internal assessment tests and compilation and dispatch of marks

  • Guiding the PGs in their Dissertation

  • Admission and discharge of patients

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/LECTURER IN ANAESTHESIOLOGY & PAIN RELIEF

  1. He shall ensure smooth and successful completion of the assigned official Work entrusted to him by the Head of the Department both regarding the Teaching work as well as patient care
  2. He should be available in the hospital premises during duty hours and as Assigned by HOD
  3. He shall consult his seniors whenever he feels necessary in the interest of The patient
  4. Take part in teaching programmes of the department
  5. Helping the post-graduates in preparation of Dissertation and Seminar/Journal Club as assigned by HOD 
  6. Assisting the HOD in Examination work 
  7. To assist in conducting internal assessment for UG
  8. To assist in conducting internal assessment for UG
  9. To carryout Research work in co-ordination with HOD
  10. To support and guide students in their curricular and extra-curricular Activities, maintenance of the department and other subordinates staff
  11. To participate in seminars, Conferences of State National and International
  12. Level to prevent papers or to participate
  13. Promptly carryout the examination duties as assigned by
  14. In case of emergency or any other official work his services should be Available for 24 hours on any day including holidays as this is essential Service

RESIDENT SURGEON

  • The working hours of the Resident Surgeons shall be on duty at the Institute during the 24 hours (9.00am to 9.00am). While on duty, he shall not leave the premises under any circumstances. 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall make preliminary rounds as soon as he arrives at the Hospital between 8.00 am and 9.00 am along with the Nursing Superintendent Gr-IIs And shall write detailed notes on the treatment given to the patients and to appraise The Head of the Department Unit of what all he has done and of the day to day status of the patients In their respective units and the investigation reports received on each Patient 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall be at the bedside of critically ill patients in turn and Personally supervise all treatment and contact the Head of the Dept/Unit or the Asst.to the Head of the Unit, as the case may be, if he feels that he needs to consult and Obtain advice on the treatment to be given to seriously ill patients. 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall also complete all entries in the case sheet wherever Indicated during the period between 8.00 am and 9.00 am 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall work under the Head of the Department/Unit concerned Between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall utilize the period of between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm for review of their patient’s status and update the case sheet filing 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall also be responsible to see that the case sheets are maintained satisfactorily by the staff nurse concerned such as sequence of the sheets in the case record, nurse’s notes doctors order etc,. 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall see that drugs and injections prescribed/ordered are issued by the staff nurse and that the patient really gets these by verifying the same during his rounds in the morning between 8.00 am to 9.00 am and 4.00 to 5.00 pm. 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall meet the officers In the Laboratories/diagnostic department and work as liaison personnel between their respective Departments/Units and the Diagnostic departments. 

ASST.SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER 

  • Counselling for providing psycho-social support with the help of guiding
  • Principles to weekly parents meeting 
  • Ward rounds from 9:00 am to 10 am along with the doctors and to listen to their grievances and to assist them according to the instructions of the doctors 
  • To help the patients to complete all investigations procedures 
  • To extend guidance to out-patients 
  • To assist for procuring the drugs from KCDF 
  • To assist for poor patients to get concessions from KCMMR fund. 
  • To maintain the accounts of KCMMR funds, Mayor Fund, Governor’s fund and to arrange for distribution of funds to concerned patients
  • To assist for getting railway pass to avail treatment 
  • Arrange to procure blood requirements to the patients 
  • To prepare estimation letters to send to CM/PM and other voluntary organizations with the help of doctors 

STAFF NURSE 

  1. She shall be responsible to perform duties of the concerned outpatient department and should possess knowledge of all duties 
  1. She should be punctual in their duties and report ½ an hour early to the department should leave the department only after closing 
  1. She should be kind and soft spoken and have patients while conversing with patients/subordinates 
  1. She should assist and help in various teaching and hospital duties irrespective of holidays 
  1. She should be responsible for overall cleanliness and hygiene of the department and undertake regular of the department and labs OT etc 
  1. She should be responsible for supervision of linen and proper sterilization and proper disposal of waste 
  1. She should ensure that proper sterilization and aseptic techniques are followed assist staff members at chain side, while treating the patient by providing proper instruments, materials etc. 
  1. She shall assist the teaching staff i.e., Lecturers and Asst.Professor 
  1. She shall maintain the statistics and accounts in the department 
  1. She shall take stock of the material and instrument, timely maintenance and supply to the students and staff while working 
  1. She shall keeping stock of various medicines, emergency drugs in the department and to maintain it 
  1. She shall counsel the patients 
  1. She shall assigns duties to the sub-ordinates 
  1. She shall delegates responsibility with authority 
  1. She shall supervise the safety and comfort of a patient 
  1. She shall participate in camps and other health education programmers when every they are posted

He/ She shall be responsible for 

  • Checking all the anesthesia machines, OT Tables and Lights of their respective

Operation theatres

  • Arrange for anesthesia drugs, IV sets, intrakoth’s and SV sets on the anesthesia

  • Every day they have to check the oxygen supply to the operation theatre and to

Attend to the complaints promptly

  • Supervision of cleaning and maintenance of their respective Operation Theatre
  • Arrange to take the patients for OT as per the list received
  • Arrange to put the patients on table in a required position
  • Arrange blood from the blood bank
  • Assist to give anaesthesia during induction, maintenance of patients during Surgery and at the time of exudation. During the period, they have to work under .The instructions of the concerned Anaesthetists

PROJECTIONIST 

  • He shall be in charge of taking stock of audio-visual equipment, slide projectors /OHP /16mm projectors and accessories
  • He shall look after the duties of Projecting in all scientific meetings, seminars, conferences and day to day projections etc;
  • He shall accompany the Mobile Cancer Detection Unit for projecting the films
  • He shall co-ordinate with the Chief Photographer in the departmental activities 

SENIOR ARTIST

  • He will cater to the needs of scientific staff of the hospital in providing posters, computer printout, artwork for publication

  • The Resident Surgeon shall also complete all entries in the case sheet wherever indicated during the period between 8.00 AM. And 9.00 AM. 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall work under the Head of the Department/Unit concerned between 9.00 AM and 4.00 PM 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall utilize the period of between 4.00 PM and 00 PM for review of their patients status and update the case sheet filing. 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall also be responsible to see that the case sheets are maintained satisfactorily by the staff nurse concerned such as sequence of the sheets in the case records, nurse’s notes doctors orders, etc,. 
  • The Resident Surgeon shall see that drugs and injections prescribed/ordered are issued by the staff nurse and that the patients really gets these by verifying the same during his rounds in the morning between 8.00 AM to 9.00 AM and 4.00 PM to 5.00PM. 
  • The Resident Surgeons shall meet the officers in the Laboratories/diagnostic department and work as liason personnel between their respective Departments/Units and the Diagnostic departments. 

ASST.SOCIAL WELFARE OFFICER

  1. Counselling for providing psycho-social support with the help of guiding principles to weekly parents meeting.
  2. Ward rounds from 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM along with the doctors and to listen to their grievances and to assist them according to the instructions of the doctors.
  3. To help the patients to complete all investigations procedures.
  4. To extend guidance to our-patients.
  5. To assist for procuring the drugs from KCDF
  6. To assist for poor patients to get concessions from KCMMR Fund
  7. To maintain the accounts of KCMMR funds, Mayor Fund, Governor’s fund and to arrange for distribution of funds to concerned patients.
  8. To assist for getting railway pass to avail treatment.
  9. To arrange to procure blood requirements to the patients.
  10. To prepare estimation letters to send to CM/PM and other voluntary organizations with the help of doctors.

ECG TECHNICIAN

  1. To attend all the ECG tests of the patients referred from different unit doctors daily.

STAFF NURSE

  1. She shall be responsible toto perform duties of the concerned out-patient department 
  1. And should possess knowledge of all duties
  2. She should be punctual in their duties and report1 ½ an hour early to the department should leave the department only after closing
  3. She should be kind and of spoken and have patients while conversing with patients/subordinates.
  4. She should assist and help in various teaching and hospital duties irrespective of holidays.
  5. She should be responsible for overall cleanliness and hygiene of the department and undertake regular rounds of the department and labs OT etc,.
  6. She should be responsible for Supervision of Linen and proper sterilization and proper disposal of waste.
  7. She should ensure that proper sterilization and aseptic techniques are followed assist staff members at chain side, while treating the patient by providing proper instructions, material etc.,.
  8. She shall assist the teaching staff ie,. Lecturers and Asst. Professor.
  9. She shall maintain the statistics and accounts in the department.
  10. She shall take stock of the materials and instrument, timely maintenance and supply to the students and staff while working.
  11. She shall keeping stock of various medicines, emergency drugs in the department and to maintain it.
  12. She shall counsel the patients
  13. She shall assigns duties to the sub-ordinates
  14. She shall delegates responsibility with authority
  15. She shall supervise the safety and comfort of a patient
  16. She shall participate in camps and other health education programmes when every they are posted.
  17. Apart from above said duty, staff nurse should carry out official duty entrusted by the HOD.

STORES CLERK-CUM-TYPIST

Typing Work

  • Reply to all Circulars, Note and Letters received from office
  • Correspondence with outside
  • Clearance of capitation letters to ESI patients
  • Preparation of Medical Estimation Letters.
  • Arrange for certification of medical expenditure bills of patients
  • Prepare of Discharge summaries, Case Summaries, Duty roaster
  • Preparation of Attendance extract
  • Processing of CM/PM fund requisition received at department.

Clerical Work

  • Verification of medical bill reimbursement
  • Drafting of letters
  • Take down dictation of letters
  • Maintenance of Stock Registers
  • Maintenance of furniture stock register, attendance registers and files. 

ATTENDER

  • To wear the uniform daily
  • To attend the Office at 30 AM in the morning and if required sweeping and swabbing work of outside the Office, staircase etc,.
  • To attend to sweeping, and dusting of the Office twice a day
  • To keep the sinks, toilets drainage clean
  • To keep the hospital premises and surrounding clean
  • To wash to windows on S afternoons
  • To be present in the Office during the working hours
  • To distribute the files and papers to different departments/wards and offices
  • To stich the files.
  • To assist the bringing materials and stationers from the Stores
  • To arrange all the files cleanly and neatly in order
  • To clean the furniture of the Office daily
  • To dispose the wastes of the Office according to the instructions of the Matron
  • To be courteous with patients, visitors and attendants
  • To protect the property and assets of the Hospital
  • To collect the Materials which were left out by oversight by patients and attendants and to hand
  • Over the same to Matron for further action
  • To bring refreshment to the officer
  • Closing the department after the staff and officers have left the office/department and ensure the Electrical equipment are switched off before closing the office/department
  • To attend any extra work entrusted by Matron as and when
  • To assist the PA to the Officers as and when required. 

Public Relations Officers will work under the direct supervision of the Director of the Institute. 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible to improve the internal and external public relations of the hospital and work towards better understanding between hospital and public.
  2. Resolve general complains from the public and obtain proper information for the institution and attend to complaints so received in consultation with the Director and replay properly under his instructions.
  3. Responsible for the presentation of the public image of the hospital by organizing publicity, advertising, exhibition film show etc,.
  4. Develop public interest, understanding and good will
  5. Promote favourable publicity or correct wrong information wherever required
  6. Organizing, presenting and planning of public education concerning services admissible at the Institute and its benefits.
  7. Assist in the community service programmes of the Institute
  8. To look after public grievance in consultation with Medical Superintendent/Chief Administrative Officer.
  9. Projecting the achievements, aims and objectives of the institutions in general news papers and to all the visitors under the Director’s instructions only. Note at no time will the PRO meet the Press on his way.
  10. Responsible to develop or maibtain good relation with the Government//Non-Government organisations, departments, institutions and understand units.
  11. To look into patients problem, complaints and to suggest ways and means to solve problem in collaboration with the concerned departments/ authorities.
  12. To assist the arrangement in developing programmes for improving public relations.
  13. The prepare press release/reports as and when required and to arrange press conferences when needed under the instructions of the Director
  14. To prepare articles and write-ups on the instructions if the Director
  15. To assist in publishing annual reports, news letter, oncoscope or other publications of the institution.
  16. To follow-up applications for License, certificate etc.,. With the Government/Agencies and to attend to outside work, liason with external agencies etc. On specific directive of the Director.
  17. Assist in organizing conferences and seminars. 

VEHICLES

  • To upkeep and maintain all the vehicles in the institute including arranging for payment of bills of expenditure after obtaining orders from the Director.
  • Preparations of monthly duty roaster of Drivers, security of log books of the vehicles and monthly closing of log books duly working out closing abstract.
  • To allot vehicles for officials was based on indents approved by the authorities(expect the Director)
  • To arrange for timely payment of insurance road tax of vehicles and to attend to all officials’ correspondence with Transport development. 

GUEST HOUSE

  • Upkeep and maintenance of Guest House including arranging for payment of bills of expenditure after obtaining orders from competent authorities.
  • To allot rooms of Guest House based on requirement s and the approval of the Director.
  • Administrative control of staff and stock in Guest House. 

SECURITY SERVICES

  • To supervise the work of the security staff and watch/ward posted in the Institute
  • To look into complaints against the Agency
  • To arrange for payment of bills of the Agency. 

VISITORS

  • To coordinate and arrange visits of Guests/Students/Visitors/VIPs visiting the Institution for officials /educational purpose. His duty is to take them round the Institutions and familiarize them with the services offered and the development of the Institutions
  • To carry out any other responsibilities/duties entrusted to the Public Relations officer by the Director/Medical Superintendent/Chief Administrative Officer. 

RADIATION PHYSICS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES OF PROFESSOR  & HEAD, DEPARTMENT OF RADIATION PHYSICS

  • Deputed to Victoria Hospital, Bangalore. 

PROFESSOR OF RADIATIONS PHYSICS

He shall be responsible for

  • Routine external beam therapy calculations.
  • Administration work
  • Academic activities
  • Overall supervision of the department. 

In addition to duties of his post he/she has to do the following duties

  • Setting up high standard of professional conduct in the department
  • Planning the teaching schedule in consultation with other staff in the department
  • Planning practical training to UG and PG along with ward assignment.
  • Planning clinical teaching programmers/with intra and inter-department co-ordination
  • Organization of seminar, Panel discussions, symposia, debates, Journal Clubs and other learning activities
  • Display of Circulars and educational materials in Notice Boards.
  • Carrying out teaching work with assistance from members of staff
  • Conduct of internal Assessment /Tests/complication of marks and despatch to principal/university.
  • Guidance to students in method od study and use of reference books and library
  • Guiding PGs and their Dissertation work
  • Taking party in college council meeting.
  • Conduct of Diploma /UG/PG/Exams
  • Supervise Admission and discharge of patients
  • Supervise out-patient work
  • Supervision of maintenance of ward cleanliness, patient’s records, x-ray and other documents.
  • Action for up keeping and timely repairs of equipment’s
  • Action for indent for drugs, surgical supplies, equipment’s and instruments necessary for the departments

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF RADIATION PHYSICS

  1. He/She shall be responsible for
  • Overall supervision of the department activities
  • Attending to External beam therapy calculations
  • Attending to administration work
  • Attending to academic activities.
  • Clinac DHX
  • Eclipse TPS Planning
  • (LDR/HDR)
  • Radiation Safety of the Institute.

2. He/She shall be responsible for setting up the high standard of professional conduct in the department.

  • To conduct clinical and epidemiological work and to present paper at conferences and chairing sessions (of national and international) conferences 
  • It is mandatory that one shall not refuse and work related to examination of University / Government / National Board without any valid reason. 
  • In case of emergency/any other official work, professional services should be made available for 24 hours even on holiday as it is essential service 
  • To attend VIP and VVIP as per protocol when required. 
  • Any other work entrusted by HOD/Medical Superintendent/Chief Administrative Officer/Principal/Director 

 

ASSISTANT  PROFESSOR  OF RADIATIONPHYSICS

He/She shall be responsible for 

  • Clinic DHX
  • 'Eclipse TPS Planning 
  • Radiation Safety of Nuclear Medicine & RCR, BRIT 
  • He shall ensure smooth and successful completion of the assigned official work entrusted to him by the Head of the Department both regarding the teaching work as well as patient care 
  • He should be available in the hospital premises during duty hours and as assigned  by HOD 
  • He shall consult his seniors whenever he feels necessary in the interest of the patient o Take part in teaching programmes of the department 
  • Helping the post-graduates in preparation of Dissertation and Seminar/Journal Club as assigned by HOD
  • Assisting the HOD in Examination work
  • To assist in conducting internal assessment for UG
  • To assist in conducting university examination work
  • To carryout Research work in co-ordination with HOD 
  • To support and guide students in their curricular and extracurricular activities, maintenance of the department and other subordinate staff 
  • To participate in Seminars, Conferences of State National and International Level to present papers or to participate 
  • Promptly carryout the examination duties as assigned by superiors/university and if not complied, considered as dereliction of duty
  • In case of emergency or any other official work his services should be available for 24 hours on any-day including holidays as this is essential service 
  • Attending VIP and VVIP as per protocol as and when required 
  • Leave should not be applied on the days on which he has teaching schedules 
  • Any other work entrusted by the HOD/ Medical Superintendent/Chief Administrative Officer/Principal/Director 

RESIDENT PHYSICISTS

  • He/She shall be responsible for Quality Assurance
  • He/She shall be responsible for clinic DHX, Eclipse TPS Planning, Chart checking E1 and E2
  • He/She shall be responsible for External beam therapy calculations ,Clinic morning QA, Chart checking DHX
  • He/She shall be responsible for Brach therapy physics planning, (LDR /HDR Nuclear medicine survey
  • He/She shall be responsible for Brachytherapy physics planning, (LDR /HDR), Clinic morning QA, Chart checking Theratron- 780C. 

BIO-MEDICAL ENGINEER

  • He is responsible for maintenance of all teletherapy.
  • He is responsible for brachytherapy units and other measuring instruments
  • He is responsible for all hospital electrical maintenance 

GRADUATE LABORATORY TECHNICIANS

  • He/She shall be responsible for brachytherapy physics planning
  • He/She shall be responsible for LDR./J:fDR
  • He/She shall be responsible for External TPS Planning
  • He/She shall be responsible for External Radiotherapy Physics Planning
  • He/She shall be responsible for Contour and Remarking 

MOULD ROOM TECHNICIAN

  • He/She shall be responsible for moulding work 
  • He/She shall be responsible for template work 
  • He/She shall be responsible for immobilization devices preparation 

CLERK-CUM- TYPIST
